CORY MONTEITH:

Cory looked over at Layla as he drove, eyes resting on her abdomen for a moment before returning to the road. She was carrying his child—their child in her still flat stomach and he couldn’t have been happier. She barely moved as he took a turn, having fallen asleep as they were driving through Washington though she’d awoken for a few minutes as they crossed the border into Canada. And now they were almost to the house he’d bought ages ago. It was the place where he came when he just wanted to get away from everything. It was supposed to have become his and Lea’s vacation house today…but once again it was his escape from the rest of the world.

He was supposed to be married to another woman right now. But instead he was home in Canada with the woman he loved more than anything—it was only slightly awkward that she was his ex-fiancee’s twin sister. He grinned, pulling into his driveway and shifting the range rover into park. He was home. With Layla. And soon they would be married. He reached over and carefully shook her shoulder to wake her up. “Rae, we’re here.” he said.

LAYLA RAE:

The last few days had been very stressful on Layla. She had managed to get pregnant and engaged to her sister’s fiance before the entire wedding was called off. It was a bittersweet moment knowing that her sister would forever hate her but at the same time she was going to be with the soulmate for the rest of her life. So instead of dealing with the drama and press, they ran off to Canada to spend time together at his Whistler home. Glad to be away, she finally fell asleep in the car.

Grunting at Cory trying to stir her from her slumber, she nodded her head and looked over at him. “We’re here?” She asked out in a mumbled before fully opening her eyes. It was such a beautiful sight, “Mm, snow.” She giggled out as she rubbed her face trying to wake up.
